Introducing Brienna Lund
I’m Brienna! I’m currently living in Utah, where the winters are treacherous but the spring and summer time feel like heaven on Earth. I’m a sun-seeker fanatic and I can easily say my ideal vacation involves the beach. When I started college, I told myself I wouldn’t take summer semester classes even though it meant I’d finish my degree earlier. WORTH EVERY SECOND! If I had the resources, I would live at the lake in the summer time, and for anyone that has spent some time in Lake Powell, they know there’s not a better place on Earth. Believe me, I’ve traveled a fair amount for my age and I still find myself figuring out ways to go back to Lake Powell every single summer. So if you’ve never been, GET THERE!
Anyway, I grew up in a big family with seven brothers and sisters. Let me be the first to tell you, if I liked kids more, I would DEFINITELY have 8 of my own just like my parents did. I love my big family! I love their mess, their company, their noise, their struggles and triumphs, and their everything else! Plus, my parents have seen all sorts of outcomes with my siblings through the years it makes flying under the radar pretty doable. Have you ever seen MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING? Sometimes it feels like that, but less Greek.
I’m studying Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Utah. I’m incredibly interested in all things exercise, diet, and health related. However, when it comes to sports, I’m like a cheerleader in a mathematics competition. I know some basics but that’s about it. My boyfriend, however, is desperately trying to get me all caught up on my sports trivia lately, especially with basketball season on top of us, while the super bowl is right around the corner. Don’t worry though, he pays his dues; if we sit and watch a game, he knows I get to pick the movie next time we go out!
I’ve been very fortunate to be given a lot of opportunities to travel throughout my life. I’ve been to Europe a couple of times, China, Kenya, Peru and Bolivia. I’ve been to Mexico more times than I can count and a few different places in the states. One of my favorite parts about traveling is seeing all the different culture that thrives across the globe. This particular blog will mostly be dedicated to Haiti and to the cultures found on that small island. Also about some of the disasters that have rattled a lot of the lives of Haitians and how relief efforts and volunteering has played a role in their recovery. I find learning and trying new things to be exhilarating and I love just being apart of it.
So let me know what you think.
I'd love to get some feedback or questions from my readers. You can email me: [email protected]
